Juniors Clinical Pilates – Youth and Adolescents
Adolescence is a phase of rapid change, physically, socially and mentally, and we believe that teenagers should be given the best possible tools to manage these changes.
Clinical Pilates programs positively affect your whole body through the improvement of strength, mobility, posture and movement control. Our programs are created specific to your child’s needs, whether it’s to help improve posture, improve coordination or prevent a recurring injury. Our programs include using equipment such as the reformer, trapeze, weights, pilates ring/balls, foam roller, Bosu ball etc.
Common outcomes you can expect from a Clinical Movement Therapy program with us may include:
- Improved posture, strength, balance, and control
- Management of adolescent hypermobility
- Management of growing pains
- Manage and recover from sporting and dance injuries
- Correction of poor mechanics that underlie your injury
- Greater resistance to injury
What to expect
Before commencing Clinical Movement Therapy group sessions, you will need to have a private assessment. During this session, your physiotherapist will conduct a whole-body assessment and create a program for you, specific to your goals.
Our group consults have a maximum of 3 children, and each client is guided in their individual movements by the treating Physio. Classes run during the school terms from week 2 through to the second last week of term with classes running for 40 minutes in duration.
