Clinical Movement Therapy for New Mums (Postnatal)

Our Postnatal Clinical Pilates programs are designed for women who have recently given birth and are looking to regain strength and shape their bodies after pregnancy. We understand that it can be challenging to prioritise exercise and rehabilitation while taking care of a newborn, but it’s essential to start re-strengthening your pelvic floor and related muscles during this crucial time. Our small group sessions are tailored to help you cope physically with the demands of caring for a new baby and prevent lower back pain and injuries.

Clinical Pilates is a safe and social way to return to exercising post-partum.

How to Get Started

To join a class, you need to have an Initial Assessment so we can create a personalised program for you, based on your medical history, needs, and goals. All of our Physiotherapists can get you started, however, you may need (or choose to) book in with our Women’s Health Physiotherapist, Amy Tinetti or E-Lynn Tan to check your pelvic floor muscle activation, as well as your stomach muscle separation.

We will create a personalised program, based on your rehabilitation needs. We will show you how to use the reformer and trapeze equipment and ensure you are safe and comfortable. Following this, you can join any of our classes, or if you prefer to bring bub with you, come to one of our Women’s Clinical Movement Therapy sessions (Tuesdays at 3pm or Fridays at 9.30am or 11.30am).

Benefits you can expect:

  • improved balance, strength and posture
  • prevention of back, neck and shoulder pain and tightness
  • strong muscles that you need to for nursing newborns and lifting toddlers
  • improved pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscle strength
  • a feeling of reclaiming your body post-birth!

We have classes you can bring your new bub along to – please see our class schedule or call us on (08) 6389 2947. Older children are more than welcome to hang out in our kid’s corner too!

Alternatively, you can join any class following your initial assessment, as all clients always have a personalised program.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us on (08) 6389 2947 or to get started, simply book an initial consultation online now.
