Pelvic Floor & Core Class

At Wisdom Physiotherapy in Claremont, we run a Pelvic Floor and Core exercise class to give women access to regular supervised pelvic floor exercises.
During the 1 hour class you will do an intensive pelvic floor workout focusing on maintaining correct technique. The exercises are performed in a variety of functional positions and to avoid muscle fatigue the pelvic floor exercises are interspersed with core exercises. Short education sessions are sometimes added.

Suitable for women of all ages wanting to increase their pelvic floor and core body strength.

The core exercises are designed to correct posture and breathing that affects the pelvic floor function.
We focus on strengthening the glutes, back muscles, pelvic girdle, shoulder girdle and improving breathing.

This is a very popular class suitable for any women interested in improving their pelvic floor and related postural muscles.

An initial assessment is required with a Pelvic Health physiotherapist (Fiona O’Connell) before attending.

What you can expect

Most people notice a substantial improvement in the way they move.

Before commencing classes, you will need to have an assessment. During this session, your physiotherapist will check your current strength and fitness levels and create a program for you. The Wisdom Physiotherapy gym is a large space with lots of gym and pilates equipment.

Diastasis Recti is the separation of your most external abdominal muscles.
