Silvia Gonzalez-Quinones – Physiotherapist
I have been a musculoskeletal physiotherapist for over 22 years working at different hospitals, rehabilitation and private practice in Spain and in Australia since 2011 (Perth and Sydney).
I have helped different groups of people, from office workers, professionals, mums and retirees.
I became a physiotherapist because I love helping people. I grew up playing tennis and saw the contribution that the physio made on people’s health in my community.
I graduated as a physiotherapist in 1999, Madrid, Spain. Learning is one of my passions. I completed a Master in Osteopathy and later on in Myofascial Release Therapy. My additional training in these disciplines formed the basis of my holistic approach to treatment. I believe body, mind and emotions are interconnected. My holistic treatment is hands-on combining physiotherapy, osteopathy (gentle joint mobilizations, cranial and visceral) and myofascial release to reduce pain, restore mobility and develop strength.
Outside work I have been working in bringing my passion sport to Perth. Padel is a racquet sport, a mix between tennis and squash. I was fortunate to represent Spain in the Padel World Cup in Buenos Aires in 1994 & 1995. In 2020 I co-founded Western Australia’s first padel club (Padel Perth Reabold, Floreat) with my twin sister. I enjoy sharing this fun and social sport with everyone.
During the last few years I have developed a special interest in educating people about being a highly sensitive person. I enjoy running educational workshops in the community to spread the knowledge about this trait.
I particularly enjoy the challenge of helping people with jaw pain. I apply techniques that I have learned from specialized training.
My areas of special clinical interest are:
- Neck Pain
- Back Pain
- Postural Strain
- Tennis Elbow
- Shoulder Pain & injuries
- Jaw Clenching/locking
- Chronic Pain
- Fibromyalgia syndrome
- Hypermobility syndrome (Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes)
