Kate Pallett – Physiotherapist
I have over 20 years of experience as a Physiotherapist in Australia, UK, and more recently in a busy private practice within the heart of bustling Hong Kong.
During this time, I have worked with a large variety of clients including elite sports people, stay-at-home mums and dads, weekend warriors, office-based workers, and women who are pre and post-partum. I have always loved the variety of clientele that I treat, and I thoroughly enjoy building a relationship with all of my patients and working through their goals.
My interest in Physiotherapy began as a young athlete myself, having competed at a state level in athletics and having sustained my own fair share of injuries. I learned the benefits early on of manual therapy and exercise based-rehabilitation in the recovery of sporting injuries, and how useful physiotherapy can be for the athlete needing and wanting to return to their chosen sport.
In my career, I have been fortunate enough to travel extensively within South East Asia with international sporting teams, and I have enjoyed the challenge and excitement that goes along with working within international sport. However, I get just as much enjoyment from working with non-sports clients who need to overcome injury in order to achieve their own personal goals or those who walk into the clinic just wanting to improve how they feel and function day to day.
I still run regularly and compete when I can in road and trail races. It’s my passion and treating running-related injuries is one of my special interests, along with looking after my two beautiful energetic children, Ava and Lee.
My areas of special clinical interest include:
- running-related injuries
- sports injuries eg. marathons, tennis, golf, rugby, soccer, swimming
- back pain
- neck pain/headaches
- nerve-related pain eg sciatica
- hip/groin injury
- knee injury and pain
- shoulder pain and injury
- office-based injuries
- pre and post-surgery rehabilitation eg ACL, shoulders
- issues related to being pre and post-childbirth
- Dry needling
- Clinical Movement Therapy – private and small groups
I love working as a Physiotherapist and it gives me great joy to see my patients walking out of the clinic looking and feeling better, both physically and mentally.
